The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath annointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty then that are bruised,

Luke 4:18

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath annointed
me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal
the brokenhearted,to preach deliverance to the captives, and
recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are
bruised, (19) To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

In 1979 in Great Bridge VA Pastor Eric Pittman was born. His
family moved a few times before retiring in Indian River MI in
1996. Eric attended Pellston Public Schools and graduated in
'97. After graduation Eric tried a few jobs before realizing what
Gods call would be on his life. He attended a handful of Bible
colleges from Michigan to Florida and finally completed a
college with a doctorate in Theology. Eric took several
missionary and study trips both in and out of the U.S including
Papua New Guinea, Israel, Australia, Holland, Mexico, and the Philippines. Some of these trips lasted a few short weeks while others lasted several months. Eric prayed for a godly wife and the Lord brought him Jen. In May of 2001 the two were married and headed out to full time jail and prison ministry in the upper peninsula of Michigan. From there Eric and Jen moved to Harrison MI where they continued doing the jail and prison ministry through Hope Baptist Church. They settled in and purchased some land and built the home they live in today. In the midst of being newlyweds, moving and serving the Lord as missionaries God was dealing with Erics heart about being open to the idea of becoming a Pastor. Eric sought counsel from his Pastor and was encouraged to find out that the former Pastor was being called to help in another church and desired Eric to become the new Pastor of Hope Baptist Church! The Church voted unanimously and Eric became the Pastor in August of 2002. Today Dr. Pittman serves as Pastor at Hope Baptist Church along with being a Chaplain at Mid-Michigan Hospitals and Chaplain for Clare Country Jail. Dr. Pittman and his wife have 3 children: Caleb, Joshua and Jael. As a family they serve and love the Lord and are willing and eager to help all people!
